a)If the Question can be answered with the help of statement I alone.
b)If the Question can be answered with the help of statement II alone.
c)If both, statement I and statement II are needed to answer the question , and
d)If the Question cannot be answered even with the help of both the statements.
Q.)If R is an integer between 1 and 9 , P-R = 2370 , What is the value of R?
I. P is divisible by 4.
II. P is divisible by 9.
Solution : P-R = 2370
P = 2370+R
From I : (2370+R) should be divisible by 4 and R should be between 1 and 9.
for R = 2 , 6 (2370+R) will be divisible by 4. i.e 2372,2376
Hence , From I It is not sufficient to answer.
From II : (2370+R) should be divisible by 9 and R should be between 1 and 9.
for R = 6 , (2370+R) will be divisible by 9. i.e 2376
Hence , From II It is sufficient to answer.
Hence , Option(b)
